Seeking to increase the underwriting capacity of its Fairmont Insurance subsidiary, Burbank-based Fairmont Financial bought an additional 65,000 shares in the unit for $6.5 million. The company also completed its previously reported acquisition of Chilton Insurance, Dallas . . . Chicago-based Consolidated Foods said it will ask its stockholders to change its name to Sara Lee Corp. . . . The Philadelphia Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Commodity Exchange are discussing the possibility of joint ventures, including linked, continuous trading of currency options . . . Assets of the nation’s 339 money-market mutual funds fell $825.5 million to $218.48 billion in the week ending Jan 23, retreating from a 25-month high, the Investment Company Institute reported.
