Nu-Med Inc. agreed to acquire U.S. Health Corp.

Under terms of the agreement, Nu-Med will assume about $6 million in debts and pay about $48 million in cash to acquire substantially all of the assets of U.S. Health, including seven hospitals. If the deal between the privately owned, Clearwater, Fla.-based company and Encino-based Nu-Med is completed, Nu-Med will own 15 acute-care facilities in eight states.
