A 43-year-old Alhambra man was killed when his car collided with a tractor-trailer rig that had gone out of control when another car swerved in front of it on the San Bernardino Freeway in Baldwin Park. The car that swerved in front of the truck did not stay at the scene, and California Highway Patrol officers were seeking the driver for investigation of hit-run driving. The victim, whose identity was withheld, was driving west on the San Bernardino Freeway near the San Gabriel River Freeway when his car collided with a tractor-trailer rig driven by Robert R. Manning, 44, of Hawthorne, who was not hurt, the CHP said. No description of the hit-run vehicle was available.
