Homes of 2 Actors Burglarized; Loss Placed at $65,000

The San Fernando Valley homes of TV’s “Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider and actor Mike Wayne, son of the late John Wayne, were burglarized of an estimated $65,000 in cash, jewelry, stereo equipment and other property, Los Angeles police said today. Police said the two burglaries apparently were unrelated.

Schneider and his wife, KABC-TV anchorwoman Tawny Little Schneider, told police they returned from an out-of-town trip Sunday to find a window pried open on their hillside Studio City home. They reported losses of about $1,000 in cash and silverware, a television, stereo equipment, rugs and other property valued at about $49,000, Sgt. Gene Rogers said.

The Wayne home, located in nearby Toluca Lake, was burglarized sometime between Jan. 11 and Jan. 13. A neighbor discovered the theft Sunday night. Stereo equipment, silverware and rugs valued at about $15,000 were reported missing.
