Child Center Included in High-Tech Park
An on-site child care facility in the new Birtcher Orange County Technology Center is claimed as Orange County’s first in a research-and-development, high-technology park by the developer, Birtcher, a national real estate development firm.
The $34-million, 26-acre facility is also the county’s largest single-phase, high-tech park, Birtcher added. It contains 386,000 square feet of space in six mezzanine and two-story buildings at the intersection of Dyer Road and the Newport (55) Freeway.
In addition to the 5,500-square-foot child care center, to be operated by Armstrong Learning Centers of Orange, the park has outdoor basketball and volleyball courts and a central courtyard that Birtcher called “football-field-sized” with a gazebo.
Birtcher plans to move its investment division, formerly Birtcher American, from Beverly Hills to the new center where it will be housed in a 30,000-square-foot building. Birtcher has more than $1.1 billion in development projects throughout the United States.
