Mubarak, Hussein Confer in Jordan
CAIRO — Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak met with King Hussein of Jordan on Saturday for talks on Arab world developments during a surprise four-hour visit by Mubarak to Jordan’s Red Sea port of Aqaba.
After returning to Cairo, Mubarak told reporters that he and Hussein discussed the Palestinian problem and his visit to the United States, scheduled for March.
This was Mubarak’s second visit to Jordan since Sept. 25, when Jordan resumed relations with Egypt after a five-year break over Cairo’s 1979 peace treaty with Israel. Hussein visited Cairo on Dec. 1.
