Local News in Brief : Pep Boys to Replace Store Destroyed by Fire

The Pep Boys will replace a 35-year-old Reseda outlet destroyed in a fire Friday, a company official said Wednesday.
Scott Rosen, chief operating officer for the Philadelphia-based company’s western division, said Pep Boys will either rebuild the Sherman Way store or build a larger outlet somewhere else in Reseda.
“We’re definitely not leaving town,” he said. “We just haven’t decided whether we will rebuild on the same location.”
The fire started when roofers using torches accidentally ignited a leaky propane tank, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire, which destroyed all the store’s contents, did about $800,000 worth of damage, according to the Fire Department.
