Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man at a gas station in Van Nuys Monday night.
Francisco Cornejo was shot in the upper torso at about 8:45 p.m. at the Mobil station at Woodman Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard, said police officer Gayleen Hays.
Two men and a juvenile were arrested shortly after the shooting when a motorcycle officer stopped a car at Sherman Way near the Hollywood Freeway because he thought the driver might be drunk. The officer decided that the trio fit a description of Cornejo’s attackers broadcast on the radio.
Martin Ventura, 18, and Rubin Munoz, 19, were held without bail at the Van Nuys jail on suspicion of murder. A 17-year-old youth also arrested was held at the Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
No motive for the shooting has been established, police said.
