Mission Viejo has defeated host Tesoro, 30-7, to take over sole possession of first place in the South Coast League.

The Diablos, ranked No. 1 in the Southland by The Times, improved to 9-0, 3-0. Tesoro, ranked No. 15, dropped to 7-2, 2-1.
