Quarterback Trevor Gretzky made three key plays to help host Oaks Christian pull into a 7-7 tie with Alemany late in the first quarter of both teams’ season opener.
Gretzky ran 10 yards on third and nine before making the equivalent of a basketball chest pass to Ishmael Adams that led to a 34-yard gain while being pursued by tacklers. He then capped the drive with an 18-yard touchdown run.
