Football: The buzz has begun after Nike camp workouts

The Nike Football Training Camp was held Sunday at USC, and these camps are all about getting exposure, 40-yard dash times and trying to make a positive impression.
The ESPN RISE people are in charge, and they get phone numbers, a chance to measure and weigh the athletes, and they get to write about those they think are impressive, building up the buzz and interest among college football fans.
So if you’re interested, here’s their take on the top offensive players and the top defensive players.
Of course, not every top player in the Southland attended, and they shouldn’t be knocked off anyone’s top list just because they didn’t participate, though that’s what some people will do. And remember, a combine workout is just that, a workout. It doesn’t reveal how well someone performs with pads on in a game situation.
Oaks Christian running back Malcolm Jones and Corona running back Jordon James got lots of attention.
