Baseball: Frattali is selected National Classic MVP

Senior first baseman Brian Frattali of Santa Ana Mater Dei was selected the outstanding player of the National Classic Thursday.

Frattali hit a two-run home run to help the Monarchs defeat El Toro, 2-1, in the championship game. He also had three hits in a semifinal victory over Esperanza.

Aaron Northcraft of Mater Dei was selected the outstanding pitcher in the tournament. Nolan Arenado of El Toro was named the outstanding offensive player in the tournament.
