Anaheim Esperanza scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 5-4 lead over Santa Ana Mater Dei in a semifinal game of the National Classic.

Reliever Matt Blanchard was brought in with two runners aboard and two out. He hit one batter to load the bases, then walked another to force across a run. A wild pitch scored another run. An error by shortstop Derek Campbell sent in the go-ahead run.
