For two seasons, Andrew Klausmeier of Chatsworth has been a pitcher with big-time potential. Except injuries held him back last season.
But on Monday night in Las Vegas, Klausmeier showed what he’s capable of doing, striking out 16 batters in Chatsworth’s 2-1 victory over Las Vegas Durango in the Durango tournament. It was Chatsworth’s second win of the day and improved the Chancellors’ record to 14-1.
Now Chatsworth, seeking its ninth City Section title, has two top pitchers in Klausmeier and unbeaten left-hander Mike Renner.
