Football: Tesoro 7, LB Poly 0 at halftime

Tesoro’s defense has been in control from the outset against top-seeded Long Beach Poly, and the Titans enter halftime with a 7-0 lead.

Poly has been tied or trailed in all four of its playoff games, so this situation is nothing new. But what must be worrisome for the Jackrabitts is a failure to generate any kind of a running game.

Preston King has been a standout for Tesoro. He has run the ball on a reverse, caught a couple of passes, completed a pass, made a tackle at the line of scrimmage and deflected a couple passes at cornerback.

These two 13-0 teams should have a titanic battle in the second half to determine the Pac-5 championship.
