Boys’ basketball: Dominguez leads at halftime

Dominguez opened an 11-point, second-quarter lead over Santa Margarita in its Southern Section Division I-AA semifinal game before settling for a 29-22 halftime advantage. Santa Margarita is having trouble handling the Dons’ quickness.

Klay Thompson missed his first seven shots for Santa Margarita before making a basket with 4:13 left in the second quarter. The Eagles have made just one three-pointer, something they’ve relied on much of the season.

Jordan Hamilton has scored 11 points for Dominguez, but it’s the Dons’ unselfish play on offense that has Santa Margarita fans feeling uneasy.
