Is there anyone out there in the blogosphere who can tell me who’s going to win tonight’s Northern Division semifinal showdown between top-seeded St. Bonaventure and third-seeded Saugus?

Of course, if you saw what I blogged a couple days ago, then you already know who I think is going to win this one, but honestly, I can see it going either way.

And the reason I have Saugus playing Hart in the Foothill League bowl next week is because the Centurions have performed better than the Seraphs over a tougher schedule. Both teams have great defenses and great running backs, but Saugus hung tough with Hart and posted victories over Valencia, Canyon and fell just points shy of toppling Notre Dame.

St. Bonny’s only big win came against an Oaks Christian team, that, until the last few weeks, I had dumped into the better-than-average looking pile. The Seraphs also lost, 25-9, to a talented Crespi team before coasting through the ho-hum Channel League.

Still, make no mistake, Darrell Scott and the rest of the St. Bonny boys are definitely a threat and they’re not going to go down easy with all the Division III state bowl game berth implications resting on their shoulders.
