That was the longest first half of my life.
Corona Centennial is on a different planet than Chaparral. The Huskies lead, 47-7, at the half against the visiting Pumas in an Inland Division semifinal.
Centennial has scored on the ground (three rushing touchdowns for Ryan Bass) through the air (Ricky Marvray’s 49-yard reception), on special teams (Marsel Posey’s 97-yard kickoff return) and defense (Jerry Hardeman’s 15-yard interception return). Everything is going the Huskies’ way. Bass even fumbled twice, but they retained possession.
I was just talking to the father of Matt Scott, the Centennial quarterback who has committed to Arizona, and I told him the Wildcats lost to Arizona State, 20-17. He tells me, ‘Oh really, I was TiVo-ing that.’
Me and my big mouth.
