There was a Charlie Weis sighting in Southern California this past week and a few University of Notre Dame committees had the unique opportunity of entertaining a house guest they’ll be calling ‘coach’ next fall.

Weis and assistant coach Brian Polian stopped by Crespi TE Joseph Fauria‘s house over the weekend and also made visits to the homes of Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist and linebacker teammate Anthony McDonald. All three players have committed to the University Notre Dame for next season and have put up brilliant senior seasons.

Of course, Notre Dame’s season fell short of expectations after the Crist-less Knights fell to Newport Harbor in the first round, but second-seeded Crespi is still alive and kicking heading into its Pac-5 Division showdown with Servite at the Home Depot Center on Friday.

And since Crist and McDonald have so much free time on his hands, they will be attending the Notre Dame team banquet in South Bend on Dec. 7.

(Here’s a photo of Fauria showboating it a little against Mater Dei last week. And I do believe the referee standing right there noticed Fauria’s Superman routine.)
