O.C. girls’ tennis: Hopes take hold as playoffs get under way

There’s a nice spot in The Register about Laguna Beach girls’ tennis, and how the Breakers are hoping to build a dynasty. They’ve got some good young talent, including their No. 1 singles player, sophomore Madeline Jaeger.

I’m still having a tough time figuring out why Dana Hills is No. 1, and Troy is No. 2, in the playoff seedings. Their regularly scheduled match a couple weeks ago was canceled because of the wildfires. But the last time they played, at the All American Tournament hosted by Corona del Mar, Troy beat the Dolphins. I guess it all works out in the end, but still ...
