Kelly Hales, a 56-year-old white man, was shot while working at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center on Thursday, April 16, 2009, in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Hales was a supervisor at the hospital pharmacy. He and his colleague Hugo Bustamante, 46, were shot by coworker Mario Ramirez, 50, police said.
After shooting his supervisors, witnesses said Ramirez turned the gun on himself. He also died. Police have no motive for the shooting.
