The 2009 Topps Magic Football cards will be released in two weeks, a set honoring some legends of the game. Among them: Jackie Robinson, wearing his UCLA blue and gold.
Robinson, obviously best known for breaking baseball’s color barrier, was a four-sport star in college, lettering in baseball, football, basketball and track for the Bruins. He also played semi-pro football for the Los Angeles Bulldogs and Honolulu Bears.
The retro-looking cards pay homage to the company’s first venture into football, the 1951 Topps Magic set.
