BEIJING -- The U.S. men’s volleyball team fell behind Serbia two sets to one in a men’s volleyball quarterfinal match after losing the third set 25-21.
The U.S. team is trying for its first men’s volleyball medal since 1992. The team has had a most emotional Olympics following the murder of Todd Bachman, head coach Hugh McCutcheon’s father-in-law. Bachmann was stabbed to death at a Beijing tourist attraction one day after the Olympic opening ceremonies.
The U.S. needs a win to advance to a semifinal match against Russia on Friday.
