Canadian songstress Céline Dion is whistling a happy tune this weekend -- she and husband René Angelil are expecting twins, it was announced Sunday.
“We’re ecstatic,” Angelil told People magazine, “Céline is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby, and the news that we are having two is a double blessing.”
Dion, 42, had been through several rounds of in-vitro fertilization and is now almost four months pregnant with the twins -- the gender of which she’ll discover sometime in June. The couple has a 9-year-old son, René-Charles.
Professionally, Dion is slated to return to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for a three-year residency, combining her greatest hits with songs from Hollywood classics. She’s also recording new albums in French and English.
