Looking to bring a new dog into your family? Dexter, a little dog with a big, sunny personality, might be just the pet for you.
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Age: About 1 year
Weight: 7 pounds
About Dexter: As a large adoption event came to an end, this little guy was about to be loaded back into a van to return to a crowded municipal animal shelter. Fortunately, Forte Animal Rescue didn’t let that happen.
‘Dexter’s right front leg never fully developed, so he has a little limp, but he doesn’t know any difference and has the most positive attitude a dog can have; he’s a ‘glass half full’ kind of boy,’ Forte founder Marie Ataki says. ‘His orthopedic veterinarian said Dexter is perfectly fine with his little handicap and he is a healthy, sweet little dog!’ He’s described as charming and affectionate.
