Robbers stole a Stockton man’s prosthetic leg this week, officials said.
The victim was on his way to a Walgreens store Wednesday. Police say two men attacked him and ran off with his leg because he didn’t have any money.
“It’s like a brag piece, a trophy,” Jackie Copland, 49, told Fox 40. “I couldn’t walk home.”
Copland says his prosthetic leg was worth $1,500 but is valuable only to him because it’s customized to his body.
“I’ve needed it ever since I was shot in the leg nine years ago,” Copland said. “I don’t have the money [to replace it]. I have a granddaughter to take care of. That’s what’s on my mind right now.”
Police have not made any arrests.
