With the help of architect Alice Kimm of Los Angeles-based John Friedman Alice Kimm Architects, Melissa Cobb, a producer at DreamWorks whose credits include ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and its forthcoming sequel, updated her 1939 Los Angeles home in a subtly modern way: by adding a new kitchen, outdoor patio and adjacent bathroom-laundry room that works with the traditional house.
