A fragrant election experience

I have, over the years, voted in schools and firehouses and community centers -- even a barbershop. But when I walked into my polling place for Tuesday’s election, I knew this was an idea that county election officials might take to heart.

I voted at El Bronco Taqueria, a little Mexican spot on Venice Boulevard in Mid-City. If everyone had the chance to be surrounded by the smells of food cooking when they voted, the turnout might be a lot higher.

Enrique and Rafel Ramos, brothers from Jalisco who own El Bronco, said that many of the people who voted on Tuesday were already their customers.
