Last Christmas, employees of the Portuguese airline TAP and the airport authority ANA organized a monster holiday flash mob for passengers at the Lisbon airport.
In true mob style, they encouraged passengers to join in, announcing:
Passengers on flight 00-00 flying to Lapland*: TAP and ANA would like to inform you that no sad children or adults are permitted to this flight. This is a flight where only happiness is allowed on board.
That’s why it is with great joy that TAP and ANA wish you a great Christmas and a happy 2010.
Does anyone know the name of the song that starts at 4:46?
Also, next time you are cursing your recalcitrant luggage cart, remember that even Santa can’t manage it. (5:27).
*Lapland is the region in northern Scandinavia where European children think Santa lives. (I once nearly ruined Christmas for a whole class full of English first graders when I started going on about Santa’s workshop at North Pole, above Canada. A lot of ‘just kidding, children, sometimes adults gets mixed up, of course Santa lives in Lapland’ saved the day. Phew.) -- Marcia Adair
