Warner Bros. bids $33 million for Midway Games

What Sumner giveth, Warner Bros. is looking to take.
The studio today made a $33-million bid for Midway Games, the bankrupt Mortal Kombat publisher previously owned by Sumner Redstone. If it’s successful, the acquisition would significantly beef up Warner’s video game business, which has grown to include three development studios and is headed by a former top executive at Vivendi Games.
The two companies previously worked together on Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, which was released in November.
