McCord honored by CIF

Sage Hill School all-around senior Miles McCord made the All-CIF Southern Section Eight-Man Division 1 Football team for leading the program to the playoffs in its eight-man debut.

McCord played wide receiver, cornerback and safety, and returned kickoffs and punts, helping the Lightning (5-4) make the switch from 11-man football to eight-man.

Sage Hill lost to Avalon, 43-7, in the first round of the Division 1 playoffs at Cabrillo High in Long Beach.

McCord finished with 67 receptions for 1,081 yards and 24 touchdowns.

McCord totaled 28 touchdowns.

Mojave senior Cameron Hill earned the CIF Southern Section MVP award.

Canoga Park Faith Baptist senior Mark Stupak was the Offensive MVP, Mojave sophomore Jacob Anderson was the Defensive MVP, and Mojave’s Cash Achziger was the Coach of the Year.
