Breakdown: Costa Mesa looks to avoid its second 0-5 start since 2014 … Savanna is coming off a 56-21 loss to Crean Lutheran at Glover Stadium … Mustangs lost at home last week to Los Amigos, 47-14, marking the first time they have scored in double-digits this year … Rebels lost to Costa Mesa, 15-6, last year … Costa Mesa has dropped eight in a row dating back to last season … Savanna, which finished last in the Orange League a year ago, has one more nonleague game after Costa Mesa, a date with Santiago next week, before it opens league with defending champion Katella … Mustangs, who have a bye after facing Savanna, kick off Orange Coast League play against defending champion Calvary Chapel at Orange Coast College on Oct. 6.
