SANTA CLARITA – Alex Bachman scored an unassisted goal in the fourth minute to lead the visiting No. 10-ranked Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference match on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Haley Magana made five saves to preserve the shutout for Vanguard (6-2, 1-0 in conference), which won its sixth straight.

TMC is 3-2, 0-1.

WOMEN’S WATER POLO

Orange Coast 21, Santa Ana 9

Lexi Heyerly had three goals, five assists and five steals to lead the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game on Wednesday.

Lyril Coto had two goals, four assists and five steals for OCC (2-0, 2-0 in conference).

Shawna Kedzie had three goals and two assists, while OCC teammate Pheobe Barker chipped in three goals and one assist.

Rachelle Addam had six saves for OCC.

Santa Ana is 0-2, 0-2.

MEN’S WATER POLO

Cal Baptist 9, UC Irvine 8

The No. 8 host Anteaters were upset by the No. 16-ranked Lancers in a nonconference match on Wednesday.

Ian Fleenor and Ryan Warde had three goals each for UCI (5-3).

Matej Matijevic had 11 saves for UCI.

Cal Baptist is 4-6.
