The Chargers and Oilers, who beat each other once in league, met in the CIF State Southern California Regional Division I finals, with a trip to the state final on the line, and it went to Edison.

Dennison led the Chargers (36-8) to a sweep at Huntington Beach, and then a sweep of Menlo-Atherton to win the CIF State Division I title, the program’s first.
