Ursini to be honored at OCC men’s volleyball match

John Ursini, owner of Newport Rib Company and a longtime supporter of local sports teams, will be honored by the Orange Coast College men’s volleyball team Wednesday night in the Pirates’ gym.

The Pirates will present Ursini with an OCC jersey and a plaque for his service of the Newport-Mesa community and athletic programs. Ursini is scheduled to be recognized between the second and third sets against Irvine Valley. The match begins at 6.

All proceeds from the match will be donated to Costa Mesa United, the non-profit that supports local youth sports and of which Ursini is a part of.
