The host No. 20-ranked Lions led, 5-3, after six innings, but couldn’t hold on in the nonconference game Wedensday.
Trai Patrick was four for four with three runs batted in and Brandon Sandoval was three for five with two RBIs for the Lions (8-5).
Corban is 5-4.

The host Rustlers earned a 25-16, 25-16, 25-13 sweep in the nonconference match Wednesday.
Golden West improved to 3-1.

LA MIRADA — Vanessa Dwyer pitched a four-hit shutout in the five-inning contest on Wednesday at Biola University.
Amber Hoffman had two runs batted in, while Taylor Wilson and Tayton Ross were both two for three for the winners.
Southern Oregon 7, Vanguard 1
LA MIRADA – Mia Palomino had the only run batted in for the Lions on Wednesday at Biola University.
Palamino was one of five Lions to produce one hit.
Vanguard fell to 3-2.
Southern Oregon is 8-1.
Santa Ana 2, Orange Coast 0
SANTA ANA — Brianna Covarrubias was three for three to pace the Pirates’ 11-hit attack in the Orange Empire Conference opener for both teams on Wednesday.
Santa Ana (5-4, 1-0 in conference) had just five hits.
OCC is 2-3, 0-1.
