Woman seriously hurt when hit by car in Huntington Beach

A woman was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when she was hit by a car while crossing a street in Huntington Beach, police said.

The woman was crossing Springdale Street north of Warner Avenue at about 4 p.m. when a car traveling north on Springdale struck her, police said.

The woman, whose name and age were not released, was taken to a hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor, authorities said.
