Man sought in clothing theft from Tilly’s in Huntington Beach

Police were searching Wednesday for a man who they suspect stole hundreds of dollars worth of clothes from a Huntington Beach store, authorities said.

The theft was reported Oct. 14 at the Tilly’s store at 5 Points Plaza, 18545 Main St., police said.

Based on surveillance footage, police said the thief was in his late teens or early 20s.

Police said a store employee told them he recognized the man as a Huntington Beach High School student who played lacrosse.

School staff was unable to identify the man from photos but did say his shorts were the type worn by school lacrosse players, police said.
