Hundreds of paddleboarders clad in pink braved the chilly waters of Newport Bay on Saturday morning to raise money for breast cancer charity Susan G. Komen Orange County.

About 500 people participated in Stand-up for the Cure at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, with proceeds funding local breast cancer education, screening, diagnostics, treatment and survivorship programs. About 25% of the net proceeds will go toward global breast cancer research.

Guests also participated in a raffle and silent auction and enjoyed beer and wine, lunch and live music.
