Missing Newport Coast man, 72, is found, police say

A 72-year-old man who went missing early Thursday in Newport Coast was found safe and reunited with his family, Newport Beach police announced about 2 p.m. Thursday.

Paul Zamberg was located less than a half-mile from his home.

Zamberg reportedly had last been seen about 3:30 a.m. at his home near the intersection of Chambord and Vincennes, just northeast of the San Joaquin Reservoir.

Police think Zamberg wandered away on foot some time before 6:30 a.m. Authorities said he is easily disoriented and in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s.
