Around Town: Torelli Realty cooking up EggCitement for Saturday

Torelli Realty in Costa Mesa will present its annual EggCitement on Saturday.

The event, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Tanager Park at 1780 Hummingbird Drive, will include an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, a petting zoo, coloring contests and a bounce house.

Proceeds from refreshment sales will benefit Costa Mesa schools.

Costa Mesa mayor’s dinner set for May 12

Costa Mesa’s fourth annual Mayor’s Celebration: The Art of Leadership dinner is scheduled for May 12 at the Samueli Theater in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

The event, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., will include live music by Costa Mesa music students, a cocktail reception, dinner and an awards presentation.

Receiving awards this year are Julia and George Argyros. The latter, a former U.S. ambassador to Spain, founded Arnel and Affiliates, a Costa Mesa-based real estate investment company.

Also receiving an award is Hank Panian, a former Orange Coast College history professor and Mesa Water District director.

Individual tickets start at $135. RSVPs are due by May 5.

Proceeds will benefit arts programs at Costa Mesa and Estancia high schools, as well as the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and South Coast Repertory.
