Police: iPhone thief hits 2 Verizon stores in Costa Mesa
Costa Mesa police are searching for a man who stole iPhones from two Verizon Wireless stores Friday night.
The first theft occurred about 8:04 p.m. when the man entered the Verizon store at 2300 Harbor Blvd. and stole three iPhones, said Sgt. Bang Le.
The man was then seen running east.
Police were called to a second Verizon store, at 901 South Coast Drive, at about 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports that a man had just stolen iPhones from that location.
He was seen fleeing in a red Infiniti.
Police suspect the same man may be involved in both incidents. Police describe him as a 5-foot-7-inch-tall Latino man, about 25 years old with an average build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, khaki shorts and a black hat.
