Costa Mesa High holds “Star Wars”-themed rally for students

The Costa Mesa High School Mustangs were feeling the Force as they assembled for their winter spirit rally Friday.
The theme chosen by students — “Star Wars.”
“With the popularity and resurgence of ‘Stars Wars,’ it became the theme that the students were really excited about for winter rally,” said Carey Delzer, the school’s activities director.
Band members played the iconic anthem from the movie series, and students dressed in white and black shirts to represent the battle between the Rebels and the Empire.
The rally is intended to recognize Costa Mesa High’s winter athletes and showcase its cheerleaders, dance team and student clubs.
