Newport Civic Center concerts will feature cover bands

Clean up the folding chairs, pack a picnic and head to a free concert at Newport Beach Civic Center.

Beginning July 31, the Newport Beach City Arts Commission will present another series of “Concerts on the Green” with familiar tribute bands.

The opening show features Rolling Stones tribute band Hollywood Stones; it’s followed by the Aug. 21 show with Rumours, a group reliving the sound of Fleetwood Mac. The series will close Sept. 11 with The Springsteen Experience.

All concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end promptly at 7:30 p.m.
