Kekai Whitford, Sage Hill School’s dynamic junior, has committed to play for the Loyola Marymount University women’s volleyball team, said Billy Whitford, Kekai’s father.
Whitford led Sage Hill to its most successful season in the fall, when the program shared the Academy League title, claimed the CIF Southern Section Division 3A title, and advanced to the CIF State Southern California Regional Division III finals.
Whitford, an outside hitter at Sage Hill, earned the CIF Southern Section Division 3A Player of the Year and Academy League MVP awards after she finished with 424 kills, 350 digs and 84 service aces. Whitford, a Daily Pilot Newport-Mesa Dream Team selection, plans to play libero at Loyola Marymount.
