College Roundup: UCI’s Lee finishes second at Rose City Collegiate golf tournament

AURORA, Ore. — UC Irvine sophomore Luciane Lee finished second to help the Anteaters tie for second as a team as the two-day event culminated Tuesday at Longdon Farms Golf Club.
Lee’s 36-hole total of 143 was one shot off the pace of medalist Anica Yoo of Oregon State.
UCI’s team score of 600 was matched by Gonzaga and it was 14 strokes behind victorious Oregon State.
UCI junior Michelle Yang led all players with 28 pars and was 14th at 151.
Senior Sara Banke (154 to tie for 20th) also played well for UCI.

MISSION VIEJO — Danielle Papello scored on an assist by Aly Vargas in the 73rd minute for the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference clash on Tuesday.
Saddleback got the equalizer in the 75th minute.
Emily Harrier made two saves for OCC.

The host Pirates played the highly touted Hawks even through one half or the Orange Empire Conference game on Tuesday.
The visitors scored after intermission to improve to 6-0-1.
OCC dropped to 1-3-1.

Concordia def. Vanguard
The No. 20th-ranked Lions won the first set, before the top-ranked Eagles rallied for a 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15, victory in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Tuesday at Concordia.
Jessica Neves had a team-best 14 kills, while Kelly Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had 16 digs and Rachael Barker added nine kills and three block assists for the Lions (12-5, 1-3 in conference).
Concordia, which won its 50th straight match, is 12-0, 4-0.
