College Roundup: Eagles to play for NAIA title

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Concordia 81, Shorter 67
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Eagles will make their fourth championship game appearance and will be seeking its second title in the NAIA Division I National Championship after its win over top-seeded Shorter Monday.
Concordia (30-7), the No. 4 seed, will play against No. 2 Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday at 7 p.m. central time. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Austin Simon led the Eagles with 19 points. Cameron Gliddon had 17 points, Dakota Downs had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Gommy Granado had 10 points. Concordia outrebounded the Hawks, 47-31.
Shorter, making its first national tournament appearance, dropped to 34-3.
Concordia improved to 24-8 (.750) all-time at the tournament, the highest winning percentage among teams in this year’s event.

MEN’S TENNIS
Amherst 6, Vanguard 3
COSTA MESA — Robin Wagner won at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-3, for the No. 6-ranked Lions in the nonconference match Monday at Costa Mesa Tennis Center.
Radek Rosiak won at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4, for Vanguard (7-5).
Amherst, ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III, is 5-0.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Amherst 8, Vanguard 1
COSTA MESA — Gabriela Bergmanova grabbed the lone win for the No. 12-ranked Lions at No. 1 singles, 6-1 7-6 (7-3) in the nonconference match at Costa Mesa Tennis Center Monday.
Amherst, ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III, is 1-1.
