COSTA MESA — Gabriela Valles had a goal and an assist for the Lions in the nonconference game Monday.
Lauren Skachenko and Linsdey Holman-Kelly scored a goal each and Rachel Rucireta added an assist for Vanguard (2-0).
Holy Names dropped to 1-3.

UC Irvine 20, Redlands 2
IRVINE — Redshirt sophomore Mitch Wise scored a career-high six goals to lead the No. 6-ranked Anteaters in the UCI Invitational Sunday at Anteater Pool.
Wise scored four of his goals in the first half as the ‘Eaters built a 9-1 lead at the break.
Junior Winston Newland scored a career-high four goals and senior Trent Baxter also notched four for UCI (2-0). Junior Nick Pfeil and redshirt freshman Jacob Mourer added two goals each.
Alex Kazmier started in goal and had five saves in the first half while Michael Bailey played the final two quarters, recording seven stops.
UCI scored the first nine goals of the game.
The ‘Eaters plays host to Cal Baptist in a nonconference game Thursday night at 7.

UC Irvine 2, Drake 1
IRVINE — Christian Hernandez scored twice for the Anteaters in the nonconference game Sunday at Anteater Stadium.
Hernandez scored in the 39th minute after an assist from Miguel Ibarra. Hernandez found the back of the net again, this time finishing an assist from Marco Franco in the 65th minute that gave UCI (3-0) a 2-0 lead.
Goalkeeper Andrew Fontein made three saves.
Drake (2-1-1) avoided the shutout with a goal in the 75th minute.
UCI plays at Wisconsin Friday at 5:30 p.m.
