UCI sweeps Sac State

UC Irvine 9, Sacramento State 7
IRVINE — Tommy Reyes and D.J. Crumlich combined for six runs batted in to help No. 22-ranked UC Irvine to the nonleague sweep Sunday.
Reyes was four for four with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored, while Crumlich posted two hits, drew a pair of walks and also scored twice.
Jordan Leyland went two for four with two RBIs, while Brian Hernandez posted am RBI on two hits as well as registering a save on the mound for UCI (12-1).
Starter Crosby Slaught struck out seven in five innings and gave up three runs on five hits to improve to 3-0. Andy Lines pitched a shutout inning and Hernandez allowed two hits before retiring the final two batters in the ninth for his third save of the year.
Sacramento State is 4-12.

OCC 379, Cypress 399, Irvine Valley 40
IRVINE — Mike Squillace shot one-under-par 70 to earn medalist honors for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference three-way match at Strawberry Farms Golf Course Monday.
Tyler Paul (73), Josh Hurst (77), Matt Chan (79) and Matt Parkovich (80) also scored for OCC (4-1 in conference). Jeff Fuzzard also shot 80.
OCC plays host to Santiago Canyon Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Santa Ana Country Club.
