COSTA MESA – Jeremiah Mejia drove in three runs with a double, helping the Lions win the second game of a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader Wednesday.
Bryce Reid picked up the victory for Vanguard (10-10, 2-6 in conference) after pitching four innings in relief. He allowed one run on three hits and struck out two.
In Game 1, Tyson Leighton went one for two with two runs batted in for the Lions.

Grossmont def. Orange Coast
COSTA MESA — OCC’s Troy Tomasello and Chris Pratt each had 12 kills but visiting Grossmont prevailed in the Pacific Coast Conference match, 23-25, 25-20, 33-31, 25-22.
McKay Smith had 11 kills and five blocks for the Pirates (7-2, 2-1). Danny Baker had 11 digs and three aces, and Jason Anderson dished out 50 assists.
Shalimar Buchanan had a match-high 16 kills for first-place Grossmont (7-2, 3-0).
OCC plays host to Irvine Valley on Friday at 6 p.m.
